About
Peter McAteer, a renowned thought leader in the field of ESG, has dedicated his career to driving sustainable change. With over 35 years of experience on the ground in more than 50 countries, he has held influential positions such as the Managing Director for Harvard Business Publishing and Chief Learning Officer for the United Nations Development Program. Peter's expertise has earned him a reputation as a sought-after speaker, with invitations to present at prominent forums such as Columbia University's Harvest Business Review, the European Business Forum, and Reuters Business Insights. In his role as the Managing Director for Harvard Business Publishing, Peter was responsible for the award-winning series of learning products, including Harvard ManageMentor™ and the first distance learning Executive Education program, Leadership Direct™. He also served on the Board of Governors and Expert Technical Panel for the United Nations System Staff College, where he designed the innovative Virtual Development Academy™. In his role as the Chief Learning Officer for the UNDP, Peter supported the training, development, and knowledge management activities of the UNDP's sustainable energy and environmental portfolio and the global implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Peter's most recent publications include "With Sustainability Comes Change," "Sustainability is the New Advantage: Leadership, Change and the Future of Business," and "Pathways to Action: How Keystone Organizations Can Lead the Fight for Climate Change." His work has received praise from leading academics and executives, such as Professor Lawrence Susskind of MIT and Victoria Tan, Executive Director for Group Risk Management and Sustainability at Ayala Corp.
