Ganesh Krishnan N., Mechanical Planner - Borouge, United Arab Emirates

The trainer is internationally known. He has the best imparting and teaching skills and everything he taught could be easily understood together with the examples provided. Kexxel Group organized a really good event with a leading trainer. I appreciate the whole thing. Keep up the phase and I hope they organize more events in Abu Dhabi.

With over 15 years of investment experience, Paul is an expert on the Buyside of the Equity Markets working in both Institutional and High Net Worth Portfolio Management. While his freelance financial training commitments grew, Paul had a spell with an international high-risk security company analysing the operations of quoted oil and mining corporates worldwide. In 2000, he moved into full time training specialising in Fund Management, Equity Markets, Private Banking & Hedge Funds. Since then, his client base has grown and diversified that includes renowned companies from across Asia, Middle East & West Africa. A Sneak Peak Into Paul Meadows's Investment Series

"Paul has delivered Financial Markets and Hedge Fund training for us over the past couple of years and is clearly very knowledgeable in this field, receiving consistently strong feedback from participants and the course remains one of our most popular and is regularly oversubscribed. Given the challenges this year, Paul has successfully transitioned his content to virtual delivery, introducing interactive elements to ensure participants remain engaged, as well as relating the content specifically to our products so participants not only walk away with a better understanding of the industry they work in, but also our firm’s strategies.
Talent Team, International Hedge Fund based in London

"I have the highest regard for Paul's skills as a financial trainer. He always gets exceptionally good feedback and I would not hesitate to book him again.
Francesca Taylor, Taylor Associates

"With the delivery of successful courses spanning various subjects, all backed by positive client feedback, Paul has demonstrated his unquestionable Financial Markets expertise on many occasions. The company has undoubtedly benefitted from Paul's ability to reliably design and conduct courses of the highest quality.
Sheridan Mangal, SFM Capital Markets

I met Paul at the London Stock Exchange where he successfully delivered training to a large group of UCL MSc Finance students. The experience was so positive that new students have consistently asked to attend his training year after year. As Programme Director for the MSc Finance at UCL, I have invited Paul to join the teaching team and create a new course called Wealth Management and Private Banking. He has successfully created the course learning outcomes and content for face-to-face and virtual delivery mastering the skills required to engage with a diverse body of students online. His industry experience and excellent oratory skills are highly valued by students who have consistently valued Paul teaching very highly.
Senior Teaching Fellow and MSc Finance Programme Director UCL School of Management

"We have been working with Paul for nearly 10 years now. The delegates have always enjoyed his knowledge and training style."

Event 1: MPT, Efficient Markets & Behavioural Finance (22 Feb 2021)

Overview of Module 1

One of the traditional building blocks of Efficient Markets – the assumption of rational Investors – has now been seriously questioned since the emergence of Behavioural Finance as an accepted discipline. Participants will gain insight into a subject matter area which has now become accepted as highly relevant and mainstream in terms of both understanding the behaviour of market participants today and which is also now part of the Investment curriculums followed by those pursuing professional financial qualifications in the future.

You will learn:

  • How long term decline in returns from risk free investing has turned them into 'Return Free Risk'
  • What Equity Risk Premium looks like today across the world’s Markets
  • Observable Beta in today's Equity Markets

Event 2: Understanding the ETF Universe  (23 Feb 2021)

Overview of Module 2

Exchange Traded Funds are now firmly established in the investment world, but how do they actually work? Originally designed as simple, user friendly, passive, Equity Index tracking vehicles, their evolution has created several different types of products across the Asset Classes, with each one requiring different approaches in due diligence. While the external ‘packaging’ might look similar, the risks underneath vary considerably.

You will learn:

  • Which Exchanges exhibit the highest Share Turnover Velocities?
  • The reasoning behind the increasing adoption of Algorithmic Trading systems
  • Differences between Physical & Synthetic Swap-based ETFs, and the implications that arise from this
  • The importance of understanding the Futures Markets when dealing with Commodity ETFs

Event 3: Asset Allocation, Risk Measurement & Management  (24 Feb 2021)

Overview of Module 3

The management of expectations is almost as important as the management of Client funds. What matters is defining ‘Performance’. Understanding the full universe of Investable opportunities is what matters, and appreciating the importance of the Correlations between them to minimize risk and meet Client objectives. Risk management involves defining what level of risk is deemed acceptable, and then striving to target those appropriate levels. However, risk cannot be managed easily unless it can be measured. There is no silver bullet out there for this task, but a range of tools to be employed where appropriate.

You will learn:

  • Risk cannot be managed unless it can be measured
  • There will always be room for education when managing the Client relationship
  • Markets are far from 'Normal'
  • Observing Investment options from a purely risk perspective is not intuitive

Event 4: An Introduction to Hedge Funds (26 Feb 2021)

Overview of Module 4

The relatively small Hedge Fund community attracts disproportionately high levels of publicity in the financial press. This can partly be explained by an ongoing lack of understanding of what Managers are doing on behalf of their investors. Some Managers use Derivatives, some do not; some use Leverage, others do not – all in pursuit of the same outcome: Absolute Return in all Market environments. This course is designed to demystify the industry and break down barriers which have appeared impenetrable to outsiders.

You will learn:

  • Why they are called 'Hedge Funds' even though majority of them are not hedged at all
  • How Performance Fees are calculated
  • Understanding the difference between Net Asset Value & Gross Notional Exposure
  • How Hedge Funds fail – do not forget Operational Risk
